June 16th-20th

Wellness Day!! Thursday, June 19th. Students will be going to Wolfe’s Neck State Park for a day of physical activity. Students should have brought home a permission slip. This needs to be signed by a parent and turned in by Wednesday.

Schedule for next week: Mon. (day 3) Tues.(day 4) and Wed. (day 5) will be regular classes. There will be no study hall Math classes. Students will be expected to be in their homeroom classes at the end of the day. Laptops for all students will be turned in by Wed.

Friday, the last day of school, will be step up and awards day.

Congratulations to all students going to Harrogate! Please have your profile filled out and $200 deposit to either Mrs. MacDonald or Mrs. Turner by Tuesday. We will let you know whom you will be hosting by the end of the week!

Mathematics

After School:
Monday - Mrs. Jones
Tuesday - Mrs. Bennett

On Monday, students in block B will take the test over the algebra unit, Moving Straight Ahead. The other classes will take the test on Tuesday. The last day of math class will be devoted to probability games and students will take this opportunity to turn in their books.

Your students have learned a great deal this year and we have enjoyed working with them.

Le Français Mme Turner after school Tuesday
“Pauvre Anne” is about to become but a memory for students. Congratulations to students for the hard work they put toward this unit. It has been a challenge but I am confident that all have achieved new vocabulary and perhaps “une nouvelle perspective” thanks to Anne. Most students will be completing the final chapter at home this weekend. I will collect remaining work on Monday and any copies of the book that have been loaned. For the last two classes we will watch the film “Jean de Florette”, “a timeless tale of greed, survival and fate”. It stars 3 major French actors, Yves Montand (deceased), Gerard Depardieu and Daniel Auteil.

It has truly been a pleasure to work with these students! They have each brought great times to their class!

Spanish – Sra. Campbell
After school on Monday and Tuesday

Spanish 7- This last week of school we will be busy with our final projects. the studetns are working on them now and will present on Tuesday and Wednesday. Class A has to present on Tuesday as we don’t meet on Wednesday. Notebook were evaluated this week and text books will be turned in next Monday.

We’re coming to the end of a great year. I hope the students have enjoyed it as much as I have. Next year I am taking off to travel to Japan and study Japanese for a year! I also plan to visit Spain next summer before I return to Falmouth to take up teaching here again. I look forward to teaching your children again in the future. Gracias a todos.

Spanish Intro – We’re working on a final activity and will wrap up next week with some games and perhaps a film in Spanish.

Science: Ms. Boudreau

After School: Monday & Tuesday

We are concluding our study of the Space with a big quiz over the “Cosmic Voyage”, “Climate & Seasons”, Moon Phases and the Solar System Poster Vocab. Students need to know the names of each of the eight moon phases we learned in class and be able to place them in order. Students should be able to predict the season in the North Pole when shown a picture of the earth and sun relationship. Worksheets completed in class are their study guides as well as the links on my Moodle site. Students will turn their laptops in directly after they complete their quiz. “A” block will take the quiz on Tuesday and all other classes will take it on Wednesdsay. If your student is going to be absent on quiz day, He/she should take it after school on Monday or Tuesday to avoid a “0″ grade.

I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend and absorbs lots of vitamin D. Look for the morning star (Venus) and check the moon phase each night.

Social Studies
Jeremy Stein

The final week of the school year will be spent reviewing what we accomplished this year. We will do an activity that will require reflection of the year and application of certain skills that were worked on all year.
This has been one of my best years as a teacher. I enjoyed working with this group of students and believe that we had fun while learning. “If you don’t know where you have been, you don’t know where you are going!”
Have a good summer
